Why this playbook?

In many Arab countries the visa appointment has become the hardest step on the road to Spain: appointments are scarce, brokers sell what is supposed to be free, and files get rejected over a single sheet of paper. This playbook gives you the correct way through — from students who booked these appointments themselves and arrived.

Where appointments are actually booked

A Spanish student visa goes through the Spanish consulate responsible for your region, and most consulates in Arab countries outsource the intake of applications to a service provider (usually BLS International).

Rule one: the consulate's official website is the only reference. That is where you find the accredited provider for your country and the official booking link. Anyone offering you an appointment for money outside that channel is a broker — and paying them can put your file itself at risk.

When to check for appointments

Appointments do not open continuously. They open in batches. What actually works:

• Check daily, early in the morning in your own country's time.
• Watch the start of the week and the start of the month — many batches open then.
• Create your account on the booking portal in advance, so you don't lose the first minutes to registration.
• Start trying at least three months before your target travel date.

The mistakes that get files rejected

• Proof of funds in a format that isn't accepted, or for an amount below the requirement.
• A medical certificate worded differently from the exact wording the consulate asks for.
• Translations that aren't sworn, or documents without an apostille where one is required.
• Health insurance that doesn't cover the full period of stay.
• A passport that expires before the end of your studies.

Every consulate publishes its own list — read it literally. Rejection over formalities is far more common than rejection over substance.
